Returns & Warranty Policy
Returns
If you have changed your mind about your purchase, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
To be eligible for a return:
- The batteries must be unused, uninstalled and in their original condition.
- The original packaging should be retained where possible.
- You must notify PowerMob within 14 days of receiving your order.
- You must contact us and obtain return instructions before sending any items back.
Unless the goods are faulty or have been supplied in error, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the goods.
Please ensure returned items are securely packaged. We recommend using a tracked delivery service, as we cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit back to us.
Once the returned goods have been received and inspected, any eligible refund will be processed within 14 days using the original payment method.
Please note:
- Original delivery charges are non-refundable unless the goods were supplied incorrectly or are confirmed to be faulty.
- Batteries that have been fitted, charged, used or show signs of installation cannot normally be returned unless they are found to have a manufacturing defect covered by the warranty.
Manufacturer’s Warranty
All batteries supplied by PowerMob are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials or workmanship for the period stated on the product listing.
The warranty covers manufacturing defects only. It does not guarantee that a battery will perform correctly where the fault lies with the mobility scooter, charger, wiring, installation or other external factors.
Making a Warranty Claim
If you believe your batteries are faulty, please contact us before returning them. In many cases, faults can be diagnosed without the need to return the batteries.
To help us investigate your claim, we may ask for:
- Your order number.
- The make and model of your mobility scooter or powerchair.
- Details of the charger being used.
- A description of the fault.
- Photographs of the batteries and charger.
- Voltage readings or other basic diagnostic information where available.
Please do not return batteries until we have authorised the return.
Warranty Inspection & Testing
Where a warranty inspection is required:
- The customer is responsible for the cost of returning the batteries to PowerMob for testing.
- Batteries will be inspected and tested using the manufacturer’s recommended procedures.
- In some cases, batteries may be forwarded to the manufacturer for further assessment. The manufacturer’s findings may be relied upon when determining the outcome of a warranty claim.
- Warranty assessments may take several working days depending on the complexity of the investigation.
If the batteries are confirmed to have a manufacturing defect covered by the warranty, PowerMob will:
- Replace or repair the batteries (at our discretion or that of the manufacturer).
- Reimburse the reasonable return postage paid by the customer.
- Send the replacement batteries at no additional cost.
If No Manufacturing Fault Is Found
If testing shows that the batteries are operating within the manufacturer’s specification, or that the issue has been caused by factors outside the manufacturer’s warranty, the warranty claim will be declined.
Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Incorrect charging.
- Use of an unsuitable or faulty charger.
- Deep discharge or batteries left in a discharged state.
- Overcharging.
- Water ingress.
- Physical damage or accidental damage.
- Incorrect installation.
- Loose or damaged wiring.
- Faults within the mobility scooter or powerchair.
- Normal wear and tear or deterioration through age and use.
Where no manufacturing fault is found:
- Return postage will not be reimbursed.
- If you wish to have the batteries returned, the cost of return postage must be paid before dispatch.
- If you choose not to have the batteries returned, PowerMob may dispose of or recycle the batteries after 30 days unless alternative arrangements have been agreed.
Limitation of Warranty
The manufacturer’s warranty covers the repair or replacement of defective batteries only.
PowerMob cannot accept liability for:
- Loss of use of your mobility scooter or powerchair.
- Loss of earnings.
- Travel expenses.
- Hire equipment.
- Consequential or indirect losses arising from battery failure.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
